I made it!

Well, I'm in Dominican Republic. I left Phoenix last night and switched in New York for sunrise (see the photo). The flights were all fairly empty, which was great as I could stretch out a bit.

It's fantastic to be in Dominican Republic...I've been here only a few hours and already feel a sense of belonging that is hard to really describe. I just love the culture and the people and everything ahead.

I'm still getting settled in with the family I'm staying with, the kids are fantastic, following me everywhere. It's going to be so much fun, I'll keep you posted!
