Run until you bleed

This was the blood from Tom's back during the race...how you might ask--not really sure, but we'll work it out

Racing

Tom did the National Capital 20-miler today and finished in an awesome 2:25:37! He is running so well and nearly ready for the Marine Corps Marathon next month.

Tours

We went into DC this weekend with my mom to see some more sights...unfortunately the Memorial was full and the Library of Congress was full closed early for an event. Oh well, we had fun walking around anyhow!

Baltimore Aquarium

We went to the Baltimore Aquarium on Saturday with my mom and spent the afternoon looking at fishes and frogs and birds (yes, in an aquarium) and all sorts of things! Then we had a great BBQ with Dennis and Abby to finish off a good little family day!

Mr Frog

This was a sweet little frog (okay, so he's poisonous) at the aquarium that was just watching out the window, hanging onto the side...hard to photo through the glass, but you get the idea.

New shirts

Thomas and William got new shirts...Tom's is a little small, but oh well!

Chincoteague

We went to a little island off of Virginia called Chincoteague for the weekend and had a really nice time. Stayed in a great English Bed and Breakfast, had high tea, ate everything pastry, and got to explore. The best part was a sunset boat cruise where we saw a million dolphins. That was the first time I got to see them and they were literally feet away from our boat. What a fun time!

Family

William and Libby arrived yesterday as well and we got to spend a lovely first evening at Fuddruckers (after Tom's amazing finish). We feasted on all-American burgers and came home for a nice long sleep! Looking forward to the next two weeks ahead!

Greenbelt 15K

Thomas got to compete in another race yesterday, the Greenbelt 15K. He did very well, placing 1st in his age group. His time was "fast" finishing at 63:43...he is soooo quick!

Cleaning

We have been cleaning the apt today in preparation for Tom's parents arrival tomorrow. Tom lifted to couch so I could vacuum under it and we found: 11 pens, 8 bobby pins, 3 toy mice, 1 ball, misc feathers. The cats managed to somehow slowly take pens and kick them under the couch...it's obviously been awhile since we've cleaned under there, but honestly, 11 pens! No wonder we couldn't find a black pen anywhere.
